What I love about this track is, it is the embodiment of psych rock. Taking influences from the greats such as King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Tame Impala, however, it’s clear from hypnotic spell of ‘Prince’ that Lime Juice are paving their own way in the psychedelic rock scene.
If you’re a fan of the retro video game Prince of Persia then this is going to get even better for you! As the single was inspired by this nostalgic game. As the band explains “This inspired guitarist/vocalist Alessandro too including an elaborate narrative telling the story of a Prince.”
Hailing from cultural hotspots of Italy, London and Brighton, the eclectic four-piece have already ensnared a loyal following in Italy, It’s clear that Lime Juice is catching the attention of many psych-rock fans. ‘Prince’ is definitely an interesting take on a genre that is flourishing in the alternative scene, but Lime Juice clearly has more to offer and I’m looking forward to seeing what they do next.
