Entering the modern Hip-hop world, upcoming artist Lemzi has recently released his new creative project in the form of a collective of songs that have been placed into three different chapters.

The creative project starts with an introduction from Lemzi himself in a spoken word form. The introduction explains why the release has been called a creative project rather than an EP or album. Lemzi encourages his listeners to make music rather than content in a world that is now placing art as the least important aspect of being a musician. Lemzi explains that the project was not designed to be cohesive and that it is a reflection of what he felt and was naturally making at the time of its creation.

When talking to Lemzi, it was clear that this is a project close to his heart and a work of art that has been delivered authentically and with no other purpose than creating.

Highlighting why this album is such a vital next step in his career, Lemzi quotes “It’s a concoction of pandemic times, relationship grievances, finding forms of mindfulness, serendipitous meetings and alternative, creative ways of expression. The first song written here was “Mad Journey” and the second was “The Slump”,within 2 months of each other. Very different headspaces in quick succession. Everything else came as & when it felt appropriate. TOB is a huge part of this CP. A young producer from Manchester who hit me up out of the blue on Instagram at a time where I genuinely didn’t even see myself as an artist (around April 2020).’

‘He sent me a pack of 5 instrumentals and the instrumental for “The Slump” was in there and instantly caught me. We kept working from there till this day. Flomine, IK, Nikhil Beats & GILLES were also core parts of the production.”

Now available on all streaming platforms ‘Outliers: The Creative Project’ by Lemzi is available to be listened to in full.
