R2ViolinCello, the Bangkok-based violin and cello duo formed by London Symphony violinist Rhys Watkins and acclaimed cellist Rowena Calvert, announce their latest EP, Mission Impossible, set to release on December 5, 2025. The EP features four classic film scores—“Mission Impossible,” “Duel of the Fates,” “Imperial March,” and “Schindler’s List”—meticulously arranged by Simon Parkin for their unique instrumental combination. Augmented by digital soundscapes from Albin Dominic, these works deliver the full cinematic impact of their orchestral origins.
Commissioned during the global pandemic lockdowns, the project grew from a desire to innovate and adapt at a time when traditional avenues were shuttered. It has since evolved into an ambitious collaboration, tracked at the world-renowned Karma Studios and heralded by music executive Chris Craker. The duo’s relocation to Thailand became a catalyst for their current trajectory—bridging international sensibilities and introducing dynamic programming to Asian audiences.
A launch concert on December 7 at Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok caps off the release, marking a new chapter for both R2ViolinCello and the city’s growing classical scene. All tracks will be available in high-quality digital formats and can be downloaded directly from the duo’s online platforms.
