“Linden Tree” stands at the entrance to Clíodhna Ní Aodáin’s For the Love of Trees. Selected as the focus track, the 2-minute, 23-second piece introduces the album’s sense of spaciousness, calm and natural presence.

The track is inspired by the Linden tree, whose quiet strength and gentle wisdom are central to the album’s emotional world. Ní Aodáin’s process involved sitting beneath trees, listening inwardly and allowing melodies to arise in the moment. She then sang and found those melodies on the cello, shaping the music through improvisational dialogue.

For the Love of Trees also includes “Rowan Tree,” “Lament for the Trees,” “Fairie Tree,” “Forest Moon,” “Redwood” and the title piece. These works reflect encounters with trees in Ireland, Switzerland and the United States, with each tree offering its own character, rhythm and voice.

The album will be released by Curve Blue on August 14, 2026, under catalog number CB2450. Recorded in Boulder, Colorado with Grammy Award-winning producer Mickey Houlihan, it features cello improvisations, voice, piano, field recordings and atmospheric soundscapes that encourage deep listening.
