Gren Bartley is a truly exceptional musician. Previous releases have received stunning reviews from specialist press such as fRoots, Bright Young Folk, Acoustic Magazine and with good reason. This latest release will add to a rich and growing back catalogue from this accomplished singer songwriter.
“Magnificent Creatures” (released 9 March with physical released 23 March) is the brand new album from Gren. “Tall Wooden Walls” is the lead track from this album. The intro is captivating as the track gradually twists into a beautiful symphonic sound. The backing vocals are delicate and uplifting and marry wonderfully with the full-bodied instrumentation guided under the stunning production values from Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Kings of Leon, Robert Plant, Paolo Nutini). This single flows with grace and finesse, building quietly over verses and choruses and ends far too soon.
The video to “Tall Wooden Walls” is directed by Gren himself and celebrates the art of stock animation. Gren will be supporting this album release with a full UK national tour which is underway. Dates are below:

Comparisons to Rufus Wainwright, Elliot Smith and Badly Drawn Boy are sure to arise, but Gren is talented and ambitious enough to make his own mark.
